Shadow C series microlight for sale. UPDATED 27-Feb-2020.
Price reduced as I need to get this sale completed ASAP.
Original manufacture in April 1989 for Rob Bridgland to use in the World Championship, this aircraft spent the first 400 hours of its life being used to a high level in competitions.
Total airframe time: 483 hours
Total engine time: 37 hours
Because it was built for competition it was built to a low weight so only has single controls, as with all Shadows it flies beautifully but I would describe its performance as pretty spritely.
As it was built for competition it has been built to a very high standard at the CFM factory and was personally test flown by Dave Cook on 09-APR-1989.
It was originally spec’d with a Rotax 447 but on purchasing it I fitted a new Rotax 503 and it was fully converted to a C Series, it has flown for under 40 hours since. The engine has oil injection added and also has a power generator with regulator rectifier providing 12v output.
It has also been fitted with the Crosbie undercarriage.
The fuel tank has been checked and is sound with no leaks, this aircraft was usually fuelled with AVGAS, it has never used MOGAS with any ethanol, it has been in storage since ethanol started getting added to MOGAS.
It has been long term stored at Old Sarum in a road trailer which is included in the sale, I am only selling due to the sad closure of Old Sarum airfield.
Asking price is £2,995 which includes the road trailer. Offers welcome.
It is in good condition and needs minimal work before being ready to go through its permit. The only signs of storage are a bit of peeling paint on the top surface of the fuselage wing attachment, light rubbing down and spray paint will easily fix this. Fuel lines understandably need to be replaced but this is a simple job as it is very easy to access all the lines on the starboard side.
