Q1 how many hours has the engine done and would I need a group A licence? thanks

A1 1190 hours. All Model 3 Kitfoxes have a MTOW of 476kg and are therefore A group aeroplanes (not microlights).

Q2 Good time of the day. I was trying to contact you over the phone, but it was not successful as i received a voice mail message. I've left my phone number on the tape. I am interested in this plane. If you are not going to sell this plane until September, i will come to see the machine and make a test flight. But before that i would like to enquire some things about the Kitfox you are selling. 1. Total airframe time 2. How many flight hours at all 3. How many rotax working hours has the engine (total) 4. What is the number of hours engine has been used at all These are the thing i would like to know at the moment. I have serious plans on this plane. Looking forward to hearing from you soon. Regards, Sergej

A2 I am hoping to sell before September! Total engine and airframe hours flown now 1191.

Q3 Hi. I would like to see the plane next Saturday (18th of July). Can you send me your contact details (mobile phone number preferably) or text me on 00353 85 108 1978. Thank you.

A3 Simply phone me on 01505 842721 a few days before 18th July to check if my Kitfox is still for sale. Incidentally, my open trailer in the you tube video is NOT included in the sale. Similar open trailers often come up for sale for a few hundred pounds. I also notice Peter Mitchell is selling an enclosed trailer/hangar at the moment on AFORS.

Q4 Hi! Good plane, but price looks like your plane has gold parts. The total time is huge, plane is old, and you want 16K just for bubbled windows and new landing gears? - it sounds funny. :) The best price you get on the market for such a plane would be from 12K to 14K MAX!!! How old is the video of the flight? Hah? Last year i've asked 17,5K for the KITFOX4 (+ trailer + Garmin NAV). But i managed to sell it only for 14K in a year time... Good luck in selling yours! ;)

A4 Sorry to hear you had problems selling your Kitfox. I know for a fact that a Kitfox 4 with Rotax 912 sold recently for £24,000. Perhaps the prices have actually improved during the credit crunch because Kitfoxes are so cheap to run compared to many other aircraft! The video was shot last week. Regarding hours, I heard today of a 912 in a training machine that has done 4000 hours without major attention. In any event, I would rather buy an aircraft that had flown an average of 75 hours during every year since it was built than a hangar queen. Nevertheless, thank you for your comments.

Q5 To the last comment: I happen to know this chap and have seen this aircraft. He is honest and it is tidy. I think your comments are a little rude but perhaps you didn't expect them to become publicly displayed. A Mk 3 Kitfox with a 912 is worth whatever someone is willing to pay and Graeme has done a good job of advertising it. In this climate it is a lot of aeroplane for not much money. Had I not just bought a nice Kitfox myself I would have paid him for it by now and it would be sat in my hangar. Good weekend all!!

Q6 hi Graem. Still, i don't think i would consider that plane any more. A friend of mine has his own affair in Lithuania (air club), he is the owner of a huge number of ultra light planes, sells plane accessories (including Rotax engines). I have got an exhaustive info from him 'bout these engines - to be exact - the maximum Rotax time has been set at the moment you've registered your plane was 1200. Current maximum Rotax time has changed to 1500. After these hours overhaul service must be done, which costs 70% of brand new engine value. That would make €8,000. I am not crazy to pay £16000 for 9 hours of flight. Thank you, but no, thank you.

A6 The system is quite different in the UK. In a permit aircraft, when an engine reaches its "TBO" it can be run "on condition". As I understand it, this means that if certain parameters are monitored and found OK, the engine can be run indefinitely without the need for a major overhaul. This is not the case with the same engine in an airgraft with a Certificate of Airworthiness. This is one of the reasons that permit aircraft are much cheaper to run than C of A aircraft in the UK. Obviously, the rules must be different in Lithuania!
