A brief history.
G-OAFA Cessna 172M , is operated by the Army Flying Association for over 30 years, based at EGVP, Middle Wallop.
In August it suffered a nose-wheel collapse and sustained damage to the port wing as seen in the photos.
The AFA do not have the facility to rebuild and have leased another a/c to enable us to return to flying.
The a/c must be disposed of.
It is preferred that it goes complete and not broken down into parts.
While it is currently in a secure hangar at Middle Wallop it is being dismantled proffesionaly and brought to a nearby under cover storage facility this weekend.
A few details:
Total Engine hours 1785.15 (It had just come from a recent service )
Total Airframe Hours: 10796.25
Last flew August 2022.
All log books up to date
Avionics Fit: Comm 1 Garmin 430, 8.33 missing from photo (just back from Garmin service), Comm 2 Trig TY96 8.33 Radio, King 176A Transponder, King 64 DME, Garmin GMA 340 Audio Panel,
The interior trim and avionics are unaffected as was the fuselage, tail plane and rudder. Almost new tyres. it was on a Public Transport Category so we couldn’t cut corners or let things go ’till next time.
The side window behind the P1 door is broken, all other glass untouched.
I've attached a few pics but if you need something more specific let me know.
We are looking for offers in the region of £12K as I really don’t want to become an aircraft dismantler, but open to discussion about separating major parts.
Update; The a/c was sucessfully removed carefully to Lockerley, Romsey in Hampshire and is available to view under cover there.
