The Saratoga II TC is a formidable tool in the right hands. There is no doubt the later PA32R aircraft are faster and quieter than the early model Saratoga’s. We know operators who regularly lay down 1200 nautical miles in a days flying with a Saratoga. N517FD is a 2001 model II TC with many optional extras. The aircraft has factory oxygen and air conditioning making it a contender to export to warmer countries and preserving its value into the future.

Plan cruise speeds from 160-170kts at altitude, burning about 18 USG per hour. The aircraft holds 107 USG (405L) so endurance is 5hrs plus an hour's reserve. We love how accurate all the engine instruments and fuel gauges are in the new Pipers, they really slip through the air and are a pleasure to operate. There was a gear leg collapse in 2019 and the aircraft was repaired at GAMA in Fairoaks, with new parts under an insurance claim.
