Taylor JT1 Monoplane G BGCY.........SOLD..........SOLD.......SOLD

For sale due to a change in circumstances - Was originally purchased in order to carry out cheap hour building towards a commercial license. Decided not to follow this route due to the uncertainty of employment. Have now purchased a bigger aircraft.

G BGCY was first flown in 1992 and is a very low houred example. The total time on the engine and airframe are a mere 280 since being built. There is a huge file full of history inc the original plans and letters to and forth from the builders of G BGCY from over thirty years ago.

G BGCY has been maintained to a very high standard and is very well equipped. G BGCY has recently had the following carried out......... Twin Leburg electronic ignition and an alternator charging two 12v batteries to power radio/GPS system etc. The Leburg ignition system has had a custom built panel with internal switched fuses fitted. The battery and alternator system has a LCD display showing the charge /charging of the batteries which can be flicked between the two batteries by means of a toggle switch located in the newly installed instrument panel which houses.... ASI, VSI, TURN COORDINATOR, ALT, RPM, CYLINDER HEAD TEMP GAUGE, OIL TEMP GAUGE, OIL PRESSURE GAUGE, PRIMER and obviously the LEBURG PANEL and LCD DISPLAY. There is remaining room to comfortably fit a radio and nav bracket within the panel. Both batteries were brand new last year. A compass is fitted to the canopy framework.

G BGCY is mechanically sound and is fitted with a 1600 VW engine which has had a recent top end rebuild to include new valves and seals fitted and a full service. The engine chugs along lovely with no smoke or un toward noises and reaches and maintains temps perfectly. The engine along with the Leburg ignition make it reliable and very easy to start. It swings first time 9 out of ten times and takes very little effort. G BGCY has a new CHRIS LODGE prop fitted which has only covered a handful of hours.

The fuselage on G BGCY has recently had a full inspection which resulted in extensive work being carried out to bring it back to a tip top solid condition. The tail plane end has been fully refurbished replacing any wooden components that required attention. The rudder and elevator have been checked over and completely re covered. The main spar has had all of the old fixings removed and undergone the spar upgrade increasing the size and type of bolt. The wing securing brackets have also had the upgrade carried out replacing all old fixings with a larger and new bolt. The remainder of the fuselage is in good condition and the fabric is nice and tight. All brackets and joints have been sanded and cleaned and repainted and greased. All rigging and attatchments are in great condition.

The landing gear on G BGCY has also had work carried out. The tail wheel assembly has been completely overhauled and a new wheel and bearings fitted along with fresh paint the front undercarriage has been cleaned up and had new tyres and inner tubes and the brakes checked and adjusted.

I have also purchased a brand new set of GROVE SPRUNGLEAF UNDERCARRIAGE imported from america costing ?1750 which is included in the sale.

G BGCY is currently undergoing a new permit and any last refurbishment work and will be in great condition for its new owner who can enjoy flying it knowing that everything has been carried out.

The empty weight of G BGCY is 480lbs with an all up weight of 699lbs. Cruise is 90mph burning 2.5gal ph meaning cheap flying at its best. The climb rate is 700ft pmin The pilot ideally wants to be a maximum of 6ft weighing no more that 13st.
