While we await the new owner for N987DC to show up, we can tell you it's delightful flying this aeroplane around. Almost £60k has been spent firewall forward on this low-time Turbo Arrow which has been with the current owner for 20 years. The current owner had a logistics business in South Africa and used it to commute between two locations. They looked at all the other options like the Mooney, and Cessna 182RG. On balance the Turbo Arrow IV wins for them as it could operate at 11 USG per hour at 145kts true, while still using high density altitude back country airstrips more easily that it’s competitors.
The 200hp TSIO-360-FB engine has just been overhauled by GAMA at a cost of £42,000 plus VAT. The propeller has been overhauled by Brinkleys with a new hub and the invoice is here for £9,300. The engine run in flights have been carried out by a licenced engineer and the aircraft is in annual to October 2024. We would be pleased to show you through the logbooks. The airframe has just 3167hrs TTAF which is well below fleet average of seven thousand plus hours. The engine and prop hours are maintenance run in hours only, so 10hrs SMOH and 10hrs SPOH. The IFR checks are in date to Sept 2024.
The paint and interior are very smart and don’t let the aeroplane down in any way, the navy blue leather seats are very comfortable. The interior was retrimmed in 2014 by Skytrim in SA. The avionics comprise of:
