1945 Piper J3 Cub
100+hp C90-14

It's finally time for Must Dash! to find a new home, I've had some great fun in this aircraft over the last 4 years. It has won numerous STOL competitions around the UK and will take off and land in 30m.

Engine: 82 hours since major overhaul (2000 hour TBO)
Prop : 82 hours since new (2000 hour TBO)
Airframe: 4012 total time (will come with 12 months Permit)

It has 29" Alaskan bush tyres, Grove magnesium wheels, Grove twin pot callipers, discs and Steves brake booster vented master cylinders were all fitted new in July 2023. The complete system was rebuilt with single piece high pressure teflon lines and is a delight to use. I guarantee you won’t find a cub with a better braking system.

I bought the engine and had it overhauled in 2023, all of the mandatory replacement items have been changed as well as all the internal rotating assemblies balanced. It is leak free and a piece of cake to start, hot or cold.

The prop is a carbon fibre ground adjustable unit made by Sensenich. It takes abut 10 mins to adjust by loosening the 6 bolts, inserting the setting pin of your choice (STOL, fine, medium, cruise, etc) rotating the blades and then torqueing up the bolts again.

I do have a fixed pitch wooden Hercules prop that is setup for cruise if you prefer the look of the more traditional wooden prop on a cub.

The engine is fitted with a full flow oil filter and is replaced every 50 hours at the oil change. The oil level tends to sit at 3.5 quarts, anything more and it will blow it out of the breather. An Antisplat air-oil separator keeps the belly clean.

The airframe was rebuilt in the 90s with new wooden spars and a new 4130 fuselage.

I was in the process of getting a starter motor approved with the LAA should the next owner decide to install one.
