Dacron failed Betts test in October this year.

Airframe 325hrs Engine 329hrs ( Engine decoke at 283hrs by CT Aviation )

Built by Brunel University engineering department as a student project being completed in 2013, then later in 2013 with just 5 hours flying time the aircraft was sold to the current owner.

Currently an ideal project for renovation either retaining the current power plant or upgrading to 912.

On which note, to save Flylight being contacted by a succession of individuals asking the same questions, the following information has been provided by Paul Dewhurst over the last couple of weeks with regards to refurb./upgrade costs:-

Replacement cover set.
Dacron £ 4,000 plus vat
Xlam £ 5,636.36 plus vat

912 Conversion
Engine mount conversion parts including mounting rubbers and engine mount bolts is £554.07 plus vat. Plus ancillaries - Exhaust, prop, radiators, oil tank, etc.
 
Paul also kindly gave an overview of the work involved for conversion to 912.
“Take off the engine cowling set and move it back around 5 inches, and shorten the windscreen to suit.  Firewall will need some rework too. Some new engine instruments, and quite a few ancillary bits – like throttle cable sets and a re-work to the throttle system to reverse the sense, and brackets for oil tanks, coolant and oil radiators. And some fuel system changes to incorporate the restricted return to tank. And a new prop as it turns the opposite way.”
 
The aircraft has been kept hangared at Sandy Airfield, Bedfordshire since purchase in 2013, so all history is known.

Selling on behalf of owner, looking to receive best offers of around £7,000. Various flying equipment, headsets, intercom, etc may be included should a respectable offer be received. ( Please note offers/deposits will not be accepted ahead of viewing as this is not conducive to an assured sale. )
